Climbing and bouldering in Lofoten
Lofoten is an internationally renowned climbing destination, with dramatic rock walls rising straight up from the sea, and one of Norway's most idyllic settings for bouldering. The unique combination of steep granite walls, beautiful scenery and coastal climate makes Lofoten a paradise for climbers, both for traditional climbing and bouldering.
Climbing and bouldering from Stamsund Hostel
The hostel is a good base if you want to climb or boulder in Lofoten and we even have climbing right here in Stamsund! A short distance from the hostel you'll find the wall Skjellaksla, with varied climbing on exciting rock formations, just off the road by Live Hotel Lofoten. Most routes are from grade 5 to 7+. If you prefer bouldering, there are several bouldering opportunities not far away, such as "King Fisher", a classic in Lofoten about 10 minutes from the hostel by car.

Henningsvær
If you want to explore more, head to Henningsvær, a mecca for climbing and bouldering! Here you'll find the climbing wall "Presten", an impressive wall that attracts experienced climbers from all over the world. Other walls in the area are "Pianokrakken", "Gandalfveggen" and "Festvågveggen". All of these offer a variety of routes with different levels of difficulty. On the way to Henningsvær you'll also find several boulders of varying difficulty, all with beautiful scenery
Eggum
40 minutes away by car is Eggum, here there is an overhanging wall, with mostly from grade 7 and up. Rainproof, and lovely views. More info here: Eggum
